Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson will be honored at the Alliance/AFT Hall, 334 W Centre Street in Dallas, from 4 to 6:30 PM on Thursday, August 21. Congresswomen is especially appreciated for standing firm on all health care issues. She was a nurse before entering public office.
Texas unions are firmly committed to health care reform. The national AFL-CIO recently joined Health Care for Americans Now (HCAN), a large coalition demanding health care reform. The group has asked progressives everywhere to visit their congresspersons during the recess that begins August 1.
