When Fred Milholland, Financial Secretary of the North Texas UAW Retiree Council, found out that organizations can start signing up, he invited Communications Director Gene Lantz to his UAW Local 218 retiree luncheon on June 28. President Pauly quickly e-mailed the forms to Dallas, and Milholland made copies at the union. Milholland then hand-carried the forms to the local's officers to get approval. By 1 PM that day, everything was finished except mailing the check!
UAW Local 218 has over 1,600 retired members who worked for Bell Helicopter in Hurst.
