Senior Power Depends on Funding

The new fiscal year has begun for Texas Alliance for Retired Americans, and affiliated organizations are pitching in the funds that can help seniors take their rightful place in Texas politics. Treasurer Elaine Jones reported on January 8 that she had just received the annual $300 affiliation fee from Texas Building and Construction Trades Council in Austin. Plumbers Local 68 sent a $1,000 donation! The highest affiliation fee for large retiree organizations is $30/year.

President Vic Pauly has been working the Texas highways and phone lines to make our new organization work! He sends his most profuse thanks to everybody who has sent affiliation fees or donations.

For seniors to succeed in our vast state, a lot of transportation expense money is going to be needed. On-line donations can be made by clicking here.

Undoubtedly, more union groups will pay their affiliation fees at the Texas AFL-CIO Committee on Political Education Conference January 19-20 in Austin. It is rumored that the National President of the Alliance for Retired Americans, George Kourpias, may attend the conference. Organizations wishing to affiliate can download the form by clicking here.
